My Top 5 Christian Songs

by Mat Tuck

#5: I Can Only Imagine, by Mercy Me

This is a popular Christian song that is very emotionally touching. The story behind the song is of a man trying to imagine what it will be like to die and meat God. The song draws the listener a beatiful picture of heaven and a man before his maker. The singer provides raw emotion into this song, and the words have a powerful message of worshiping the Lord.

#4: Undignified, by the David Crowder Band

This is one of the most fun Christian songs I have ever listened to, although it is much better live than on an ipod or off the radio. The song talks about dancing and singing before God. It is about looking foolish, crazy, and as the song puts it, Undignified while worshiping God. This is something that is strongly encouraged in the bible that many Christians overlook today. It is a fast pace easy to dance to song. It is a lot of fun to be jumping for joy at a live preformance of or in front of a mirror at home.

#3: You Won't Relent, by Jesus Culter

This song is simple but powerful. It has less than fifty words in it that are repeated a few times. This may sound boring, but it is actually ver worshipfull and easy to learn. Someone hearing it live for the first time could sing to it after only a minute or so of listening. It's meassage is that of God never relenting until he has all of someone. It is a positive measage in growing spiritually.

#2: How he loves, by the David Crowder Band

This is in my opinion one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Maybe I only think that because the singer uses a lot of metaphors to describe how his relationship is with God. But David crowder does it very well. The song begins a little quitly with some piano. It gets much louder half way through the song in order to emphesize the love of God. The best thing about this song is that the singer givers a sense of being overwhelmed by the holy spirit in his vioce.

#1: In Christ Alone, Promis Keepers Addition

When done correctly this is the most powerful Christian songs ever. It is an old song, so it has been covered by all sorts of Christian artists. Some versions are a lot better than other versions. My favorite was made for for a live event called Promise Keepers. It is off of the album, "The Awakening." This song takes you through the life, death, resurrection, and ultimate victory of Jesus Christ. The song starts off quite with one man singing. Towards the end the song blasts the listener with music and voices all singing in magnificent harmony. I say this live at a Promise Keepers event in Chicago yours ago. The combination of this song and the ten thousand men singing along with it gave me goosebumps. It has been my favorite Christian song ever since.
